Some of our researchers had been engaged in biosecurity social research for many years, while others in the team new to kauri dieback and myrtle rust brought new perspectives that may not yet have been considered. We embraced postgraduate researchers in the team by offering funded Masters research opportunities, and summer internships for small scale projects within the larger research projects. Additionally, we supported early career researchers and encouraged the employment of postgraduate students as research assistants.
